Photography has allowed me to view life in a magical way.
After going through a painful time in my life, I picked up a camera to tap into my creative side. This has enabled me to find more beauty in the world than I ever thought was possible.
Once I took a beginning photography class I wanted to shoot everything I could and I have certainly worked hard at that. From capturing the energy of bands to the splendor of flowers to the haunting beauty of urban decay to portraits of people that capture unique aspects of their personalities, if something interests me, I’ll shoot it.
Initially, I lugged my trusty Nikon with me everywhere. However, after purchasing an iPhone I discovered I could make art with a simple 3 mega pixel cell phone camera. And now I find myself turning to both of these cameras to capture images of everything around me.
I’ve been extremely fortunate to have my work exhibited once at the Woodbridge Pub and the Kresege Building and several times at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, MI and at the Bean and Leaf Café in Royal Oak, MI. You can currently find my work available for viewing and for sale at the Detroit Artist Market on Woodward Avenue. I have also had my event photography featured on Motor City Blog, have a photograph included in the Eastern Market portion of the Schmap.com Detroit City Guide, and have been included in articles on both the Absolute Michigan and Michigan in Pictures websites.
Many times I just get in my car and drive, either by myself or with photographer friends, roaming the city and country looking for unique photography experiences.
I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
